Latest v1.9.0 11 tracked patches

Patch timeline

  1. v1.9.0 Feature

Cube character and pre-match selection fixes

Adds the new Cube character, individual character selection before a match, visible selected-map confirmation, desync improvements for hiding players, pose-stop fixes, and a longer hunter shotgun firing delay.

What to check in a match: Groups should confirm character choice and selected map before starting. Hiders should retest pose timing because the update fixes poses stopping midway, while Seekers should account for the longer shotgun delay.

  2. v1.8.0 Feature

11 emotes and Osaka map fixes

Adds 11 emotes, fixes an Osaka map gap that allowed out-of-bounds clipping, and fixes eliminated players not disappearing in Basic Mode.

What to check in a match: If your group uses Osaka, retest old hiding routes after updating. Basic Mode hosts should also confirm eliminated players now clear correctly before setting room rules around callouts.

  3. v1.8.1 Fix

1.8.1 update notice and rollback context

The developer posted update 1.8.1 and later announced a rollback because of a bug. The latest official announcement is update 1.8.0, so verify the version shown in your own client before testing a route.

What to check in a match: Do not assume every client has the same build during a rollback window. Confirm the displayed version before treating an Osaka clip, emote, or elimination behaviour as reproducible.

  4. v1.7.0 Maps

    Osaka map and report feature

Adds the official Osaka map and a report feature, and fixes the Discord link on the title screen.

What to check in a match: Treat Osaka as a fresh map-learning exercise. Run a short private round to identify broad surfaces and sightlines before relying on any shared hiding idea.

  5. v1.6.1 Fix

    Cloud save and BGM fixes

Fixes infinite loading on the cloud-save screen and an issue where BGM did not play.

What to check in a match: If cloud saves or background music fail after an update, restart the game first and test a simple private room before changing local files.

  6. v1.6.0 Feature

Hider size option and cloud-save work

Adds an option to change Hider size and implements measures for a cloud-save error.

What to check in a match: Hosts can use the new Hider-size option for a room rule, but should confirm every player is on the same build before comparing results.

  7. v1.5.1 Fix

    Found-player and map-load fixes

Fixes a found player reappearing mid-match and Seeker clipping into the map while it loads.

What to check in a match: A found-player reappearance or map-load clipping report is worth retesting on the current build before treating it as a live strategy.

  8. v1.5.0 Feature

Reveal likes and movement rule fix

One like per player per match for hidden players, movement-block scoring fixes, and answer-reveal colour tweaks.

What to check in a match: Likes and reveal presentation affect round feedback rather than map knowledge; review a completed round before changing your group rules.

  9. v1.4.1 Fix

    Player-state and Workshop API fixes

Fixes detected-player deletion, Steam Workshop API limit issues, server-status display, and player nameplates.

What to check in a match: When Workshop or lobby display problems appear, test one official map first so a subscription issue is not mistaken for a game-wide issue.

  10. v1.4.0 Maps

    Sugarland and Penguin Hotel expansion

Adds Sugarland, expands Penguin Hotel, improves server search, fixes Paint Mode traps, and adjusts language tags and voice-chat icons.

What to check in a match: Sugarland and the Penguin Hotel expansion change what players need to learn. Use the linked map notes as scene-reading practice, not permanent hiding guarantees.

  11. v1.2.0 Maps

    Ranking, Penguin Hotel, and poses

Adds ranking (distance and line-of-sight time), Penguin Hotel, two new poses, a Backrooms wall-stuck fix, and says mod integration no longer requires recreating the server.

What to check in a match: Ranking feedback is most useful after a full round: compare exposure, distance, and the first visible clue instead of copying an old route exactly.
